I've used a few driving wheels. My previous favorite was an older Logitech model that was designed for the playstation 2. It was mostly plastic construction, but it did very well. However the G27 blows it away.

To put it fairly the G27 is a bit over the top. It doesn't 'need' to be leather wrapped, but because Logitech felt they needed to do this shows the level of dedication/quality they have to this product. With the G27 you also gain the clutch pedal, dedicated shifter pod (that can be attached to the main driving wheel, or detached for mounting elsewhere), F1 style shifter pedals, and F1 style shift lights controls on the wheel itself. Plus all the standard ps3/computer controls built in.

Couple this with GT5:Prologue (and hopefully the main game comes out soon), and it's an amazing experience. It's also gave me the urge to buy a Playseats driving seat, with a couple of adapters the G27 bolts right on to the seat for full immersion, awesome.

This wheel is the best in the class, you might pay a bit more, but if you're buying a dedicated driving wheel, you're probably already obsessed, and you might as well just get this one.

As I already owned a Driving Force" wheel by Logitech,I was looking forward to improved driving with G27 and was not disappointed! Many current force feedback style games are not making use of the additional clutch pedal feature and the buttons on the steering wheel itself do occasionally get hit by accident...but after two or three times one can "learn" to avoid that. The wheel looks great and mounted easily to my playseats chair with just a little drilling. The bolts needed are metric 6 thread.Two came for the shifter in the shifter mounting attatchment I bought separately. I do not know how different this wheel may be from a G25 but A BIG step up for me! Hope this helps.

Amazing quality and realistic feel to the wheel. Definitely worth every penny. Pedals feel realistic. Shifter feels like a real car. The button control layout is best because it works for both PC and PS3. It increases the immersion effect of Gran Turismo for the PS3. Pair that with the up coming 3D TV and you have a blast! Makes all racing games ten times better! One thing is the cable management could be better like some kind of wirelessness in the next wheel. Once you have it all setup, the cables aren't that bad, plus they add to the precision you will need in racing games. Another thing is, if you are tall, you might need a comfortable seating arrangement. I suggest getting the Playseats gaming chair. Other than that, excellent wheel! I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!
